Gareth Bale's life is very different since he retired from football. The Welsh footballer looked back on his different stages in an interview with 'BT Sport', where he spoke about the added responsibility of playing for Real Madrid.
"MLS is a lot more chilled. When you lost a game with Madrid it seemed like the end of the world, you were crucified, you went home and you weren't happy," he said.
"I remember talking to Liverpool players before the final. They had trouble sleeping, they were nervous.... We had a different mentality. We just expected to win, especially in a final, even though they were playing better than us..." he continued.
In addition, Bale also commented on Messi's arrival in the United States: "In the United States they accept defeat a little better, there are no consequences, they don't leave you on the bench.... You lose a game and you think about the next one. They accept defeat better and they celebrate every victory as if it were a Champions League title. I enjoyed it a lot".
"There are conditions like the long journeys, the humidity.... But I think Messi will enjoy his time there. And it's great for MLS and for the USA and with the World Cup coming up, I think football will grow a lot more," the Welshman concluded.
