On the night, Corinthians got off to a lightning start thanks to three first half goals. Ramiro converted after 22 minutes, before Jo made it two just seven minutes later. Mateus Vital then tripled the home side's advantage just five minutes after that, with the game looking finished as a contest. Ramiro completed his brace barely 15 minutes into the second half to cap off a magnificent display from the home side.
With the result, Corinthians climb above River Plate into second in Group E, level on points with the Paraguayan side who drop to third.
