The close of the transfer window is set to produce one of the biggest moves not only of the month of January, but of the whole season. Joao Cancelo is about to leave for Bayern Munich.
The Bavarian side have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City for the loan of the Portuguese player, one of the players most used by Pep Guardiola during the campaign until the last few weeks, and one of the most versatile.
It was 'The Athletic' that announced the agreement between the two clubs. The loan could include an option for the German club to buy the player at the end of the season.
Bayern, in this way, put an end to one of the problems they had in the squad. The injury to Lucas Hernandez at the World Cup, a long-term absentee, had created a gap that Cancelo will fill.
The move between the two clubs has been swift, and has to be completed before the transfer window closes at midnight on Tuesday 31st January to Wednesday 1st February.
